Razorback Athletic Trainers' Association

Razorback Athletic Trainers' Association (RATA), is a Registered Student Organization (RSO) at the University of Arkansas. The membership of this RSO is made up of Graduate Athletic Training Program students along with undergraduate students with an interest in athletic training! Our goal as an RSO is to promote the profession of athletic training locally and nationally, as well as making a positive impact in our community through community service and philanthropy!

Our Members

The majority of our membership is made up of students in the Graduate Athletic Training Program. These members are first and second year Master students stretching from internationally and every region of the United States. This diverse group of students are taking classes towards the goal of passing the Board of Certification exam and becoming certified athletic trainers. The undergraduate contingent of members are students with majors from a variety of departments that either have an interest in pursuing a Master in Athletic Training, a different medical degree such as PT, OT, MD, etc., and/or are working as students in any of the athletic training clinics here on campus!

While completing their academic duties, the members of RATA balance their time to achieve our goals and mission. We plan an annual fundraiser 5K for our community to help raise money to create better learning opportunities for our members and to give back to a local sports medicine program in the form of a donation. We also look for opportunities to volunteer as first aiders at local races and events. Our members have had the ability to work in multiple professional sports settings including the NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, and MLS, and have had opportunities to travel to and work nationally recognized competitions including the Boston Marathon!Our members have had the ability to create an impact near and far, and our goal is to continue to do so year in and year out.
